Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Schools
It has never been more important for us to reevaluate pesticide use in and around our schools. Using integrated pest management (IPM) to manage pests such as cockroaches, mold, and mice will help keep our children safe. Learn more about IPM in the school environment at this site.
Pest Scene Investigation: "CSI" Program for Youth
This youth program teaches about IPM through "CSI" techniques. By presenting live insects, insect displays, and investigative and pest control tools, students learn about how pests are "criminals," the evidence they leave behind, and what tools can be used to find them and control them. They also learn about the "crime scene," or the conducive conditions that can lead to pests infesting a home or school.
Wild World of Pest Management
A youth-oriented introduction to Integrated Pest Management. Hissing Madagascar cockroaches, a live corn snake, and a stuffed mouse generate excitement and emphasize key points during an interactive approach for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.
